Class Reading--Till We Have Faces #2

Class Reading
Till We Have Faces

I honestly did not love reading this book--it was difficult for me to understand and very different from the Narnia stories...which I had absolutely loved.  I wanted to read another easy story about a made-up world in which everything was pure and good and even when there was evil, good would triumph over it.  Till We Have Faces wasn't that simple... it was dark and complex and left me with a lot of questions.  I think that might have been Lewis' purpose though.  I don't think he wanted to give us all the answers, and I don't think he wanted this book to be as "obvious", or as black and white as Narnia was.  The gods of this story are not like our God.  The comparisons are not that simple.  But we are like Orual, and that makes us uncomfortable.  It is in that place of being uncomfortable though, that we are challenged, and that we learn and grow.
