The Lion Witch and the
Wardrobe Blog- October 3rd
The overall story in this book is what attracts readers. However
for me it’s the typical sibling connection that sucks me in. In the beginning I
wondered will the others ever believe Lucy and follow her into Narnia or will
Lucy enjoy such a creative and beautiful place on her own. Even when Edmund
goes in and finally can see Narnia he does not let his siblings know that Lucy
is telling the truth. It seems that even when something magical is going all
you want is for your siblings to understand and get you. Even though this is
such a magical story if you look at the characters they are so normal. They
bicker like normal siblings. The oldest two feel the need to judge and pick over
everything the youngest two say. But, when they all agree on something it’s amazing
what these four siblings can accomplish. That is what makes the story great for
me. Lewis manages to make something normal out of such a magical novel. For someone
like me who does not really like to read books that involve magic; he made this
novel more than bearable because he made it so that there was something real
about it all.
