Judgment: Till We Have Faces

Orual, I am the God of Mercy, Eleos, and now you must sit and listen to my judgment. Orual, I have witnessed much of your life. You have struggled with finding and feeling loved, and you have rejected the gods and our desire for you. For years, you have grown possessive of your sister Psyche, and you have blamed us for taking her away from you. It is not us that is to blame Orual, except for only you. You learned from the priest at the temple of Essur about the myth of Istra.  In hearing the sacred story, you accused the priest of telling falsities, and you were furious, and thus you recorded your complaint about the gods. Stories as such, give us a longing to know something greater, it gives us hope and meaning. Many times we tried to communicate with you but always you built a defense against us which prevented you from trusting in our nature and our purposes. You rejected your memories of Psyche and the gods. Orual, we wanted you to hear us but your egotistical nature led to your inability to discern our true messages. You built your own reality and you were blinded by your own selfishness. Thus you suffered and endured much pain as Queen of Glome. Your selfishness to fulfill your own reality led to only you hurting many others. Oh, dear Orual, if only you had hope and true faith in us. We have always been the answer! Go child! I, Eleos, will extend mercy upon you.
