Ethics-Student Choice
In both The Ethics of Elfland and The Magician's Nephew, they talk about ethics in myth. The Ethics of Elfland, the narrator explains how his predecessors have lied to him which is unethical. An example in The Magician's Nephew would be Uncle Andrew's ethics of getting the kids to go to another world by sending Polly without her knowing. As soon as an act it justified for humanity, is it okay? Just like the example of water boarding that we talked about in class. Secrets have power and if you know a secret and someone else doesn't, you have power over them. Some people are allowed to know these secrets and others aren't but does that mean it is ethical to keep them?
