Orual’s Judgment- November 22

            Hello Orual, my name is Stephanie I am the goddess of wisdom and balance. I have been watching you since your teenage years. As a child you have no balance nor wisdom so I do not watch over those who are two young to have these qualities. I have seen you go through a lot with your sister. I have seen you give her bad advice over and over again. But besides the bad advice I have seen yourself go back and forth with your internal self about the decisions you have in regards to your sister. It seems as if you’re jealous of her at one then at another point you are overprotective. However, what you may feel to realize is that these two things can overlap and cause such an unbalance in your life. Your need to protect Psyche may be driven by your jealousy of her. I hope you’re following what I am trying to say. Because of your misguided jealousy it is not we the gods who have wronged you and your sister but you. It is your fault that Psyche had to leave the palace she lived all because you were jealous of the thought of her having a husband and you not being granted that blessing. You also are the reason that she was banned because you did not want your sister being with someone she could not look at it. Your overprotectiveness is what led to her curiosity. The lack of trust you have in your sister’s judgment and instincts caused her a lot of hardship at points in her life. The point of it all is that you should’ve at many points in your life known better than to meddle in your sisters affairs and leave her to be. It seems to me that it is a shame that you had to hear a retelling of your own life to understand that it was not us but you who wronged your life. It is a shame that it took a myth to teach you something that as an adult you should already know. Myths are there to teach children the values of life and the roles that people play in the direction of their lives. However, it took you as an adult to hear a myth before deciding to look at myths the way they are intended to be looked at.  If you had focused on growing as a person instead of worrying about Psyche’s life all of this could have been avoided. Do you think that if you had created a normal bond between you and your sister your lives would have turned out differently?
