Representation- Outside reading

In class, we talked about how the world that we think is real is just a collective representation of what we know.  I connected this discussion with an outside reading of the Bible and the account in Genesis of the Flood.  It rained more than it had ever rained before and God did this because humankind had been persistently disobeying Him.  He told Noah and his family to build an ark and board it with two of every kind of animal so they could survive.  After the flood when the waters receded, God put a rainbow in the sky so that humans would remember the covenant he made with them.  The rainbow is a representation of God's love for us and an agreement to never do that again.
