Myth as a Parable- Outside Reading

Myths are about truths that can't be expressed by simple ideas or objects, just like how parables are used in the Bible.  The existential need of myth is vital to life because it is how we can comprehend love as human beings.  If we compare our actions to mythological ways, we can better understand the model of love we are using.  For example, King David was told a parable and found out he was in the wrong by taking from the poor and understood afterwards how he needed to love others to live.  This comparison draws attention to how as humans, we need these stories to help us gain a new perspective about our future decisions in life.
