Myth Became Fact - HB
In Myth Became Fact, C.S. Lewis talks about how Christianity is not seen as ridiculous, even though the "no modern man can really believe" in such a story. I also find it interesting that Lewis was not always a christian, nor was his writing. He too is one of the many who came to believe one of the stories of a god over another. Lewis goes on to state "that the doctrines of historic Christianity are merely mythical". I find this idea fascinating. Every major, and minor religion for that fact, is just a story with some level of what they claim as factual history. Islam and Judaism have books and book on what they believe are facts which brings them to the conclusion that their religion is right and others are not. As a result of reading this essay, it only makes me want to reevaluate my knowledge of religions, not to become more concrete in it.
